The Words Under the Line
Ages 15-18
Shneur writes at the top of his practice sheet:
Read this page without skipping a line.
He reads aloud. His finger follows every line to the bottom.
He brings his pencil to the words at the top.
He draws a line through them.
Underneath he writes:
Read this page without any pause.
He starts again.
Halfway down, he stops after "window." He puts a pencil dot beside that word, then reads the rest of the page.
At the top, he crosses out the new sentence.
Read this page without looking...
His pencil stops after the three dots.
He looks at the dot beside "window."
He draws a line through the unfinished sentence.
Below it, he writes:
Read this page without skipping a line.
He makes a checkmark beside those words.
Shneur folds the sheet and puts it under his book. The dot beside "window" folds inside.
He takes a blank sheet from the stack.
