The Sleeve Beside the Tower

Ages 6-9

Fruma and Tzivia put wooden blocks on the rug between them.

They take turns adding one block to the tower.

Fruma holds a yellow block. She sets it back beside the box.

Tzivia adds a red one.

Fruma moves her sleeve against the bottom block.

The tower falls.

"It fell," Fruma says.

Tzivia sets the bottom block upright and begins again.

Fruma rests her sleeve beside it. She moves her arm.

The blocks fall onto the rug.

Tzivia picks up the red block.

Fruma looks at the yellow one beside the box.

Her sleeve moves toward the new tower. She pulls her arm back.

"I'm done," she says.

Tzivia keeps the red block in her hand.

"I knocked it," Fruma says.

She sets the fallen bottom block upright. Then she puts her unused yellow block into the box.

Tzivia adds the red block.

Fruma moves her arm away from the tower and gets up.
