The Last Line on the Note
Ages 15-18
Shua lays a strip of printed text along the left edge of their reading sheet.
Avrohom has a note beside him. Three lines are numbered:
1. My comments have to fit beside the text.
2. The letters run into the printed words.
3. If you leave it there, I'll have to...
"Could you move the text to the right? I need a wider margin."
Shua slides the strip right and holds it there with two paper clips.
Avrohom puts his finger beside the first number on his note.
"My comments have to fit beside the text."
He moves his finger to the second number.
"The letters run into the printed words."
He points to the empty margin.
Shua lifts his pencil from the reading sheet.
"If you leave it there, I'll have to..."
Avrohom's hand comes down on the sheet. He slides it to the middle of the table.
The third line on his note ends after "to."
Shua sets his pencil beside the sheet.
Avrohom picks up his own pencil. In the margin, he writes his first comment: "Which window does he mean?"
