The Bird Flag

Ages 6-9

Feigy and her friend make paper flags for their pretend picnic.

Her friend's flag has straight stripes. Feigy's stripes wander across the paper.

Her friend holds up the finished flag.

"Yours is wobbly."

Feigy tips hers to the side.

At its top corner, a small bird sits above the stripes.

Her friend puts the straight flag on a cardboard stand.

Feigy folds the bottom of her wobbly flag around its cardboard handle. One stripe bends through the fold.

Her friend moves the straight flag to the pretend picnic blanket.

Feigy puts hers beside it.

They sit behind both flags. Feigy's uneven stripes cross the paper from side to side. At their top corner, the little bird sits above them.
