The Towel in His Hands

Mommy helps Rafi wash his hands. She turns off the water. Rafi holds his hands up. They are wet.

Mommy brings his little towel. Rafi takes it in a bundle. He pats one hand. Water still shines on his fingers.

"Let us open it," says Mommy. They spread the towel between their hands. Rafi rests one hand on it.

Mommy folds part of the towel over his fingers. Rafi presses gently. He lifts his hand. It feels less wet.

Rafi puts his other hand in the towel. Press, press. Mommy helps dry between his fingers.

Rafi holds out both hands. Mommy checks them and hangs up the towel. Rafi goes back to his toy bowls.
