Rafi Stirs the Soup

The pot

Rafi has a little red toy pot. He has a big wooden spoon.
Stir

Rafi puts pretend carrots in the pot. He puts in pretend peas. He stirs. Round and round.
Hot

"Hot soup," says Rafi. He blows. Puff, puff, puff.
Yum

Rafi pretends to taste the soup. "Yum," he says. He rubs his tummy.

Then he holds it out to Mommy. "Mmm," says Mommy. "Thank you, Rafi."
Read together
Read aloud and pretend to stir together. Use large age-appropriate play pieces with a grown-up beside the child. Keep toy food out of mouths. Let the child point, stir or say a word. A grown-up handles stickers.
