Look

Ages 6-9

Itamar's paper windmill turns in his friend's hand.

When he holds it himself, it stops.

His friend gives it a strong puff. The blades spin once, then slow.

Itamar takes it back and blows harder.

Nothing moves.

His friend reaches for it again.

Itamar keeps holding it.

"Look."

His friend points to the folded blade touching his thumb.

Itamar moves his thumb lower on the cardboard handle. The blade lifts clear.

He blows softly. The blades turn halfway.

His friend points again. Another blade catches the handle's wide top.

Itamar bends that paper corner forward a little.

He blows once more. Two blades turn past his hand.

His friend puts down his own windmill and watches.

Itamar lowers the handle to see both corners. At the top, his paper blades turn without touching his thumb.
