Both Feet

Ages 6-9

Yaron's friend calls every little jump a mistake.

They are moving toy frogs across paper lily pads.

Yaron's frog lands with one foot outside the pad.

"Wrong."

Yaron pulls it back.

On the next jump, the frog reaches the pad but turns sideways.

"Wrong again."

Yaron puts the frog down beside the water sheet.

"Which part has to be on?"

His friend picks up another frog. He puts both its feet in the middle of a pad.

Yaron looks at his own frog's long toes.

"Both feet?"

His friend nods.

Yaron moves his frog to the starting pad. On its next jump, he places both feet inside the paper circle.

His friend brings his own frog to the next pad.

Yaron leaves the sideways body alone. Across the pretend water, two long feet rest inside one small lily pad.
