Ask First
Ages 6-9
Noa and her friend walk past the classroom doors.
Her friend wants Noa to come inside and show her picture to another class.
Noa holds the picture against her folder. The picture has a little house in one corner.
The other classroom is busy. A teacher stands near the front.
Her friend puts one foot through the doorway.
"Come on."
Noa stays in the hall.
"Can we ask first?"
Her friend steps back. They wait beside the open door until the teacher turns toward them.
Noa lifts the picture.
"Can we show this?"
The teacher points to the wall beside the doorway.
"Right there."
Noa and her friend stand beside the doorway. Noa holds the picture so the nearest children can see.
Her friend points to the little house at its corner.
When they finish, both return to the hall. Noa puts the picture inside her folder, with the classroom door still open beside them.
